For Family Literacy Month we’ve partnered with Fraser Valley Regional Library Chilliwack (FVRL), to bring you a new indoor StoryWalk® from Jan 17th-31st, 2022.
StoryWalk® is an innovative and delightful way for children and adults to go on a reading adventure. Laminated pages of a story book will be posted around the library. You and your little one will make your way from one page to the next. Between each page there will be a little activity for your child to complete on their way to the next page!
This StoryWalk® features the beautifully illustrated book titled “Outside In”.
Once you’ve completed the adventure you can fill out a ballot to win a prize at FVRL Chilliwack.
StoryWalk® is self-led.
The FVRL Chilliwack address is:
45860 First Ave, Chilliwack, BC V2P 7K1
Although this StoryWalk® is inside, many of our previous StoryWalk® locations have taken place outside. Generally laminated pages from a children’s book are attached to wooden stakes which are installed along an outdoor path. As you stroll down the trail or sidewalk, you’re directed to the next page in the story. This combines three critical elements for overall family health: early literacy learning, family engagement outdoors, and physical activity.
Would you like to borrow our laminated StoryWalk® books for indoor or outdoor use? Email Annette at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 604-392-2404.
Keep an eye on this page for our next StoryWalk® dates and locations!
The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
