One Good Book

One Good Book – Interview with CLS Volunteer Sharon – Episode 2

By January 11, 2022 January 28th, 2022 No Comments

This is our second interview in our #onegoodbook series.

Our One Good Book series is intended to show people that all you really need is one good book to turn yourself into a reader for life! It’s never too late to find that book either.

This interview is between our Literacy Outreach Coordinator, Annette, and Sharon, one of our long-time volunteers at Chilliwack Learning Society.

Sharon’s love of books started when she was quite young. Her mother and teachers always tried to provide her with books to read. The one that really stood out for her was Black Beauty by Anna Sewell. As a young child Sharon felt she could really relate to the main character who also happened to be a horse!

Have a listen to see how the story of Black Beauty gave Sharon confidence and courage in her own life.
